Oak Knoll Residence

A glass-and-cedar residence on a flat acre and a half, two minutes from Menlo School.

Oak Knoll was completed in 2022 for a family who wanted an Atherton estate that lived like a house. The plan is a single long bar of glass and cedar, set back behind heritage oaks, with every principal room opening to the south lawn and pool.

The main level is one continuous run of kitchen, family room and dining, with ten-foot pocket doors that disappear into the walls. Upstairs, the primary suite takes the whole west wing: a sitting room, two dressing rooms and a bath in Calacatta Viola marble.

Below grade there is a wine room for 1,800 bottles, a gym with a cold plunge and a screening room. The grounds were planted by a Woodside landscape studio and are fully irrigated on a smart controller.
